"Healing happens in relationships, and you don't have to walk through life's challenges alone.”
Lauren is a Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master of Social Work from Boston University. She is passionate about helping individuals find healing, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose. Before becoming a therapist, Lauren spent several years in youth ministry and higher education. Those experiences sparked her desire to help people in deeper, more meaningful ways and ultimately led her to pursue a career in mental health.
Lauren enjoys working with young adults and college students as they navigate life's transitions, as well as individuals experiencing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, perinatal and postpartum challenges, spiritual concerns, and religious trauma. She recognizes that every person's story is unique and believes therapy should be tailored to each client's individual strengths, goals, and needs.
Lauren's approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Liberation Health, and other evidence-based approaches to create an individualized treatment experience for each client. She believes in meeting people where they are and adapting her therapeutic approach throughout the counseling process to best support their growth and healing.
As a trauma-informed therapist, Lauren believes it is essential to ask, "What happened to you?" rather than, "What's wrong with you?" She understands that clients entrust therapists with some of the most difficult moments of their lives and is committed to creating a space where those experiences are met with compassion, respect, and care.
Lauren believes that having a strong support system is one of the most important factors in the healing process. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients during their journey, serving as a source of encouragement while helping them build meaningful connections and supports outside of the therapy room. Her goal is for every client to know they have someone unconditionally in their corner as they take steps toward healing and lasting change.
Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and children, meeting friends for coffee, shopping, exploring creative hobbies, baking, cooking, writing poetry, and ending the day with a good book on the porch as the sun sets.
