Therapist

Melanie completed her undergraduate studies at Georgetown College and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of the Cumberlands. She brings a variety of experience from working in community mental health, residential treatment programs, college counseling, several years in healthcare, and trauma-work with an emphasis on children, domestic violence & abuse, and adults facing life transitions. Melanie is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She also draws on techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to tailor treatment to each individual's needs and goals. Melanie's theoretical approach includes acknowledging the bravery and determination it takes to initiate therapy and honoring the client as the expert in their life and the therapist as a friend joining in the journey to empower growth and resilience. She offers both in-person and Telehealth services.

Melanie has lived in Kentucky for over 13 years and enjoys spending her time with her family and dogs in the great outdoors, exploring unique and adventurous places together.
